For patients

Care between visits—from your clinic, not another app.

Some clinics use Helose to send check-in texts, refill reminders, and lab prep from the practice number you already know. You reply by text. Nothing new to download.

Helose is software your clinic buys. Patients cannot sign up on their own—ask your care team if they use it.

What it feels like

Same number. Short texts. Real humans when it matters.

  • Texts from your clinic

Messages come from your doctor’s office number—not a random short code or a wellness app push notification.

  • Reply when you can

Check-in scores, “running low” refill taps, home log replies, or a simple OK. No portal login required for most prompts.

  • Your team sees it before the visit

Staff review what you texted back before your appointment so the visit starts with context—not a blank “how have you been?”

Patient stories

What patients say about texting their clinic.

Composite stories from pilot clinics—names changed, experiences representative of how Helose works between visits.

  • I thought it was spam until I realized it was actually my clinic. I replied with a number for how I was doing on my supplements and they had it before my follow-up.

    Elena R. Integrative medicine patient
  • No app, no password. Just a text asking how injection week went. I told them about the nausea and they called the same day—not a robot diagnosis, a real nurse.

    Marcus T. GLP-1 weight-loss patient
  • My dermatologist texts when my regimen slips. I send a quick reply or a photo when my skin flares. The front desk stopped playing phone tag with me.

    Priya K. Dermatology patient
  • We log blood pressure by text on the days they pick. My flip phone works fine. The doctor had my readings before I walked in—first time that happened.

James W. Rural primary care patient

At your next visit

Ask your doctor about between-visit texting.

If your clinic does not use Helose yet, these questions help you and your care team decide whether it fits.

  • Can check-ins and refill reminders come from our practice number instead of a separate app?
  • Will my replies show up in my chart review before the next visit?
  • Do I need to install anything, or is it just text messages?
  • Who on staff sees my replies—and is it HIPAA-secure?

FAQ

Common patient questions

  • Can I sign up for Helose myself?

No. Helose is sold to clinics and covered entities. Your doctor or clinic administrator enables it for patients on their panel.

  • Is Helose medical advice by text?

No. Messages are reminders, check-ins, and logistics from your care team. Urgent symptoms still go to your clinic’s normal triage line or 911.

  • Will I get marketing texts?

Helose sends the schedule your clinic sets at your visit—check-ins, refills, labs, or home logs. You can opt out of SMS per your clinic’s SMS terms.

  • Does Helose replace my patient portal?

Usually not. Refill links may open your clinic’s portal or dispensary, but day-to-day check-ins are plain texts you can answer in seconds.
